Ready, Set, Prep!

School Readiness

Starting school is an exciting time for both children and parents. Getting ready for school means more than practicing pre-literacy and writing skills. School readiness involves looking at the child's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and linguistic development.

This program is being run in January 2021. Please contact us to express your interest.

This group is suitable for children commencing Prep and is run by an Occupational Therapist and Therapy Assistant.

This group aims to support

  • Attention and listening
  • Following instructions and asking for help
  • Social skills development such as sharing and taking turns with peers
  • Fine motor skills
  • Gross motor skills
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • School routines
  • Executive functioning skills (planning and organising)
  • Working in pairs/small group on joint tasks
  • Separating from parents

Snack time is factored into each session. Please ensure your child brings their school bag, drink bottle and a snack.

You may choose to pay privately for this service, or if you have NDIS funding you may use the funding allocated in your capacity building supports - improved daily living.

Our next group will be held in January 2021. We are now seeking expressions of interest. Email us your child's name to find out more.
